Patent Seminar Tomorrow - Seats still available

There are still a few spots available for the upcoming workshop entitled Patent Reform and University Inventors, scheduled for this Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Dunn-Richmond Economic Development Center.  Lunch is complementary for registered attendees beginning at 11:30 a.m. and the workshop will conclude at about 1:30 p.m.

SIU alumni’s business expanding to Carbondale

CARBONDALE — Larry Mieldezis, Chief Operation Officer for Liaison Technologies, decided to expand his Atlanta-based business to Carbondale and is now outgrowing that location.
Mieldezis, Marion native and a 1996 SIU graduate, expanded Liaison Technologies to offices in the Dunn-Richmond Center in 2010. The global company, which provides data integration and data translation services, has now expanded enough in Southern Illinois that a new location is needed. He said clients include Merck & Company, International Paper and Warner Bros.
He said the company will move to 1075 Reed Station Road, Suite B, in Carbondale, where they will be one of two tenants. There will be a ribbon cutting for the move Monday, Feb. 27. The company also recently moved into new corporate headquarters in Atlanta to accommodate expansion.
