SIUC's Dr. Ken Anderson and colleagues have established Thermaquatica, Inc, a start-up company based upon their research in the Department of Geology, College of Science. Thermaquatica is working to commercialize green technology for the production of chemical feedstocks from coal and other organics. The company recently obtained the rights from the University to develop the technology. The research was funded by a grant from the Illinois Clean Coal Institute.
